Forages Yield and Quality Analysis by Overseeding Annual Legumes into Whipgrass Sward in Autumn
Introduction: Whipgrass (Hemarthria compressa) is commonly grown in southwest China as forage for livestock but production during the late autumn-early spring period is limited. Yang (2010) extend the production season for the pasture by overseeding small gains and ryegrass into whipgrass swards. The objective of this study was to determine if annual legumes oversown into whipgrass sward in autumn could increase the forage yield and quality.
