National Funding Initiatives for Laser Technology in Germany:Projects on Brilliant Laser Sources and their Applications

Germanys leading role in laser technology is not least a consequence of successful national precompetitive joint development projects between industry and science: Support of laser technology in Germany is strongly performed by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF). History, project structure and activities in actual research initiatives are described.
