Numerical simulation and experiment of pulsed laser welding distortion of Hastelloy C-276 alloy thin sheet
A simplified finite element model (FEM) of pulsed laser beam welding (PLBW) distortion of 0. 5 mm thick Hastelloy C-276 alloy thin sheet is established by using ANSYS software. The influence of the clamping distance and clamp release time on welding distortion evolution has been investigated by using displacement constraints instead of actual clamp conditions. Experiments were carried out to measure the residual distortion using a measure system.
