Picosecond high precision material ablation
We report on femtosecond and picoseconds fiber and Yb: YAG thin disk-laser amplifiers. We realized two configurations: pulse durations of 1 ps and less are obtained in chirped pulse amplification (CPA) schemes, and picosecond pulse durations are obtained in CPA-free amplifier configurations. We obtained an average output power of >20W for both fiber and thindisk lasers, and discuss on the lasers performances. We compare material ablation performances using these lasers in different configurations.
