Entrepreneurial University: Demand and Response of Chinese Universities
Entrepreneurial university originated from Europe and North America under the background of the second academic revolution, knowledge-based economy, stringency of finance,orientation of government policy and law and theory of triple-helix. The imbalance between exernal demands and internal responses finally resulted in the emergence of the new university paradigm. Entrepreneurial university has proved its strengh and vitality for a few decades througthout the hard times for universities due to its essence of being proactive, progressive,self-reliant and innovative. Chinese universities are facing the similar situation currently. Hence how to meet the demand oustside and respond inside to transform and reform in the new era remains an issue concerned.
