A Powerful Innovation Tool of Samsung Group: Implementation of DMADV with TRIZ
I. Background of the DMADOV Development Established in 1938, Samsung Group is now one of the largest corporations in the world, concentrated in electronics, engineering and chemicals. Until the 1980s, Samsung was still an original equipment manufacturer. After believing that Samsung focused too heavily on producing low quality cheap products, chairman Lee Kun-hee started a revolution trying to improve the product quality. In the late 1990s, Samsung was almost brought down by the Asian Financial Crisis. Coupled with the new revolution strategy and the near bankruptcy experience, Samsung started to invest in innovation aggressively. The commitment in innovation is a major contributor to the fast growth of Samsung in recent years.
