State and Fault Simultaneous Estimation for Nonlinear Networked System with Random Packet Dropout and Time Delay

This paper is concerned with the state and fault simultaneous estimation for a class of nonlinear networked control system with random packet dropouts and time-varying delays. A novel measurement model is proposed to account for the random packet dropout and packet-dropout compensation simultaneously. An augmented state observer is constructed to estimate the state and fault of the original system. Under the consideration of non-ideal networked environment, a less conservative sufficient condition is derived to guarantee the stochastic stability and the H∞ performance index of the error system, and the corresponding observer gain is characterized in terms of linear matrix inequality. Finally, a numerical example is provided to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.
