An Approach to Design Global Finite-time Observers for a Class of Nonlinear Systems

In this paper, the problem of designing global finite-time observers is investigated for a class of nonlinear systems which are uniformly observable and globally Lipschitz. Based on the theories of globally asymptotic stability and finite-time stability at the origin of the system, an approach to design global finite-time observers for the nonlinear system is presented. It has been shown that, the global finite-time observer designed possesses advantages of in rapid speed and high precision over traditional observers which realize asymptotic reconstruction of the states of the systems.
