Dynamic Modeling of a Two-part Deep Towed System

A new two-part deep towed system is introduced. With the universal interface vehicle,which supplies power and signal interfaces for the towfish and acts also as a depressor,the system is easy to be developed and flexible to be upgraded. Lumped mass approximation is applied to derive a 2-D non-linear numerical model of two-part deep towed system. Simulation results show that the system can isolate the towfish from motion of the surface ship effectively and has a good motion stability.
