Modeling Asymmetric and Large-displacement Hysteresis in Piezoelectric Actuators
Hysteresis is the main form of nonlinearity in piezoelectric actuators. It has a nonlocal memory and an asymmetric loop between the ascending and descending paths. Due to these properties, the tracking ability of piezoelectric actuators is limited in micro/nano manipulation systems. This paper proposes an asymmetric and large-displacement hysteresis model to compensate the effect of hysteresis in piezoelectric actuators when input voltage surpasses the inflexion point of the ascending curve. The experimental results show that the new model can accurately predict the response of hysteresis nonlinearity in piezoelectric actuators.
