An Ecological Study on Phytoplankton in the Sea Areas near the Liuheng Power Plant of East China Sea

This paper focused on the phytoplankton in the sea areas near the Liuheng Power Plant (29°65′00″-29°90′00″N, 122°05′00″-122°30′00″E). The samples were collected in the autumn of 2010. Totally 57 species in 23 genus of 3 phyla are identified. The values of phytoplankton cell abundance were between 37.1×104 -1951.6×104 cells/m3, and the average abundance was 559.2×104cells/m3 。The main advantage specie was Skeletonema costatum. Phytoplankton in the sea areas near the Liuheng Power Plant could be divided into three ecological groups: (1) eurythermal and euryhaline group; (2) inner bay and coastal temperate group; (3) warm water off-shore group. Eurythermal and euryhaline group was the dominant group. The main red tide organisms in the sea areas of the Liuheng Power Plant were 20 species, and the main red tide organisms were Skeletonema costatum and Coscinodiscus jonesianus. According to the nutrient concentrations and phytoplankton species diversity index, the sea areas near the Liuheng Power Plant were lightly polluted.
