Characteristics of Membrane Fouling for Coagulation-Microfiltration Process with different Coagulants
The characteristics of membrane fouling and humic acid removal efficiency for coagulation-microfiltration process with different coagulants have been studied. Results shows that water pre-coagulated by ferric/aluminum coagulants before microfiltration membranes filtering can reduce the decline of flux. With the same dosage, polymer ferric coagulants have a better effect on the reduction of membrane fouling than monomer ferric coagulant but aluminum coagulants are just the opposite. The humic removal efficiency of the permeate increases with the coagulants dose increasing from 0 to 0.6mmol/L, whereas the flux improves firstly when dosage increases from 0 to the optimum dosage of 0.2 and 0.3 mmol/L, and then decreases at 0.6mmol/L. So the optimum dosage to get the maximum humic acid removal is not the best dosage for membrane fouling alleviation.
