Study on Status of Odor Pollution in Petrochemical Enterprises

The odor pollution is a widely recognized challenge to the environmental protection in petrochemical enterprises. The detailed investigation and detection analysis are carried out to the typical petroleum refinery under regular production conditions, and the intensities of pollution sources are calculated. The results indicate that the odor concentrations from different sources have a relatively broad range between 28 OU.m-3 to 91557 OU.m-3. Among them, the surface evaporation of sewage has the biggest influence, up to 74.29%. The water supply and drainage plant is the most important contributor to the odor pollution, accounting for 43.92%. So the corresponding control measures are needed to the key odor source in petrochemical enterprises.
