Study on Adsorption of Cadmium Ions(Ⅱ) in Aqueous Solution by Zeolite 4A
Under static state, the Cd2+in aqueous solution adsorption on zeolite 4A was studied. The results showed that the removal rate of Cd2+in aqueous solution was up to 99% after 30min at 40 when a 100m ℃ l aqueous solution of Cd2+(100mg/L) was adsorbed by 0.1g zeolite 4A and The sorbent exhibited good sorption potential for Cd2+with a peak value at pH 6.0-7.0. The sorption followed the Langmuir and Freundlich sorption model. The correlation coefficient was 0.981 and 0.998, respectively. The zeolite 4A had a 163.93 mg/g adsorption capacity for Cd2+and posses the ability of removing Cd2+due to the ion exchange primarily. Pb2+exhibited the highest effect on the sorption of Cd2+on zeolites 4A and the decreasing order of the counter ion effect is Pb2+>Mg2+>Ca2+≈Cu2+. When 0.5g/L zeolite 4A was added, the removal rate of Cd2+reached 99% at an initial Cd2+concentration of 50mg/L and competitive ions concentration of 10mg/L.
