Heterogeneous Photocatalytic Degradation of Pesticide Imidacloprid by Silicotungstic Acid Supported on Mesoporous Material MCM-41
A series of new solid polyoxometalate catalysts containing silicotungstic acid H4SiW12O40 (HSiW) supported on mesoporous material MCM-41 are prepared and characterized by FT-IR, X-ray diffraction and nitrogen adsorption. The prepared HSiW/MCM-41 with different HSiW loadings level from 20 wt.% to 60 wt.% possesses large specific surface area and uniform mesopores. The Keggin unit of HSiW retains on the prepared composite catalysts. The photocatalytic performance of HSiW/MCM-41 is examined by degradation of a world-widely used pesticide imidacloprid. Results show that the prepared composites exhibit high activity under irradiation of 365 nm monochromatic Light. For 50 mL imidacloprid (10 mg/L), the conversion of imidacloprid using 20 mg HSiW/MCM-41 with 50 wt.% loading level reaches 45.66 % after 4 hours’ irradiation.
