Study on degradation of 2,4-DDT by Nano Zero-Valent Iron

This paper preliminarily investigated the degradation of persistent organochlorine pesticides 2, 4’-DDT by nano zero-valent iron. Four independent variables, viz., temperature (25℃-35℃), pH of solution (5-10), and iron power dose (0.1-0.5g/L) were transformed.The pretreatment recycling rate ranged from 92.5% to 108.7%, and the average recycling rate was 98.5%, standard deviation was 6.86 and relative standard deviation was 6.97%. The methods detection limit of DDT was 1.08μg/L. Study shown the best degradation condition was 0.5 g/L iron powder, room-temperature (25) and neutral ℃ pH for 200μg/L 2, 4-DDT.
