Discussion on Influential Factors of Carbon Removal and Denitrification of Slaughterhouse Wastewater
Not only organic matter is higher, but also nitrogen content is higher than the standard in slaughterhouse wastewater. Previous researches show that OCO technology has very good denitrification effect on sewage, therefore, OCO process is adopted to treat slaughterhouse wastewater. Factors affecting OCO technology, such as the dissolved oxygen(DO), the hydraulic resident time(HRT), organic load and C/N ratio of denitrification, were investigated. HRT of the anaerobic zone, the anoxic zone and the aerobic zone in an OCO reactor was 5:2:3. The test results showed that, when the concentrations of influent water of ammonia nitrogen and COD were less than 60 mg/L and 1000 mg/L respectively, and when DO in the aerobic zone was 3.0-4.0 mg/L,the total HRT in OCO reactor was 20h, organic load was 1.48-1.68 kg/(m3·d) and C/N ratio of denitrification was 4-6, the removal percentages of COD, ammonia nitrogen and total nitrogen were over 88%, 75% and 50%, respectively. The study shows that as a new technology for slaughterhouse wastewater treatment, the OCO technology has very good effect.
