Adsorption of Chromium(VI) Removal from Wastewater by Ion-exchange Fiber
The treatment principle of chromium(VI) removal from wastewater by ion-exchange fiber was introduced. Some factors affecting the adsorption were discussed through dynamic experiments. The result showed that pH value of wastewater was the key factor. The optimal pH was 2 and bed flow rate was 6-12 BV·h-1 at room temperature. With 2% NaOH in saturated NaCl or 2% KOH in 15% KCl at 12 BV·h-1, the regenerating rate of Cr(VI) was 98.09% and Cr(VI) could be recycled as Na2Cr2O7 and K2Cr2O7, respectively. Ion-exchange fiber showed high adsorption capacity for high concentration chromium(VI) ions.
