Influence Factors and Kinetics of DNT Wastewater by Wet Air Oxidation

DNT wastewater was treated by batch wet air oxidation (WAO) at different temperature, pressure, pH and catalysts to determine the effects of these factors. The range of operating temperatures was from 180 to 360 ℃, react time was from 0 to 90 min, initial pressure was from 3 to 11 MPa, respectively. It is found that with the increase of temperature, react time and initial pressure, the COD decreased a lot (from 3 975 mg·L-1 to 43 mg·L-1). Acidic condition was benefit for the removal of COD, and a higher COD removal was achieved with the aid of the catalysts. Experimental results showed that WAO is an effective method for the treatment of DNT wastewater. A kinetic model(a=1.786 9, b=0.121 35, k0=69.675(mg·L-1)-0.9083·h-1, Ea=386 67.27J·mol-1) was developed to describe the DNT wastewater treatment by WAO according to PSO, which is the first time to be applied in kinetic model calculation. This model will be useful for industry treatment of DNT wastewater by WAO.
