Influence of Main Components in Coal Bed Gas on Degradation Ability of Methane-Utilizing Bacteria
Strain L08 was isolated from Liaoning Panjin paddy soil with methane as sole carbon source. The influence of main components in coal bed gas such as CO, CO2, H2S, SO2 on degeneration ability of Strain L08 was studied in this paper. The results showed that when CO, SO2, H2S concentration in the gas phase was less than 1.0%, 0.5%, 1.0% (v/v) respectively, which did not affect the methane degradation ability of strain; above this concentration which would be toxic to bacteria; and in the system the trace CO2 can not affect greatly the results of oxidizing methane.
