Management and Visulization of Laser Scanning Point Cloud Data Based on The Virtual Global Platform
this paper provides a new solution to manage anddisplay the massive Lidar point cloud data based on virtualglobal platform, either airborne or terrestrial Lidar data, whichhelps understanding the overall conditions of the collected datafrom different sources. Given overall consideration ofmanagement and virtualization, the study designs the new out-of-coremulti-resolution data structures. The structures for airborneand terrestrial Lidar data are discussed separately, due to thedifferent ways of data acquisition and different scales. The datastructures are used to implement a Lidar data management anddeveloped as a spatial information sharing platform by WuhanUniversity.
