DC FLASHOVER PERFORMANCE OF INSULATORS UNDER ICING CONDITIONS
This paper presents the effects of voltage type and polarity on the maximum withstand voltage of a string of 5 IEEE insulator units under icing condition. The relationship between flashover voltage level and dripping water conductivity is analyzed. Moreover the variation of leakage current on ice surface under DC+, DC-and AC are measured and the relationship between flashover voltage and leakage current at the instant of flashover is studied.
