EXPERIMENTAL STUDY ON THE COLLECTION COEFFICIENT OF POWER LINE ICING
The effectiveness of collecting water droplets by the power lines strongly influences the accuracy of the predictive models. In a simulated atmospheric condition, a number of experimental tests were carried out to get the collection coefficient. Through changing the air temperature, wind speed and other meteorological parameters, a series of results were then compared to that of the empirical formula. The error is less than ±17%.
