Identification Methods for New Eco-fibers

This paper discusses physical, chemical and microscopical techniques for identifying new ecofibers, such as polylactic acid (PLA) fiber, soybean protein fiber, casein protein modified polyacrylonitrile (PAN) fiber and chitin fiber. In order to certify the feasibility of qualitative analysis, the test methods for identification have been compared including microscopic method, solubility, and infrared absorption spectrum. Two or more test methods was suggested to i-dentify these new eco-fibers.
