Shinning Stars
I see Shinning Stars in people. Those that are passionate about what they do. The people that have the motivation, natural ability, and desire to be successful in their chosen path. As a teacher for nearly 5 years I saw many Shinning Stars in my students. The ones that always achieved much more than I ever asked. They questioned, they searched for answers and were willing to work long hours on their projects due to the passion they had for what they were doing. My first memory of wanting to be a fashion designer was when I was 5 years old, watching my mother making me a red velvet party dress. I remember being animated that she could make me a dress from a piece of fabric and a sewing machine. When I was 12 years old I received probably my best ever birthday present. My grandmother gave me her mother s old sewing machine, a hand singer sewing machine. From that day onwards I cut up and inspected my clothes, made patterns from newspapers and wore my new creations with pride. At this point I had no official training, in either sewing or pattern cutting.
