Occurrence of Microcystin-RR Producing Microcystis Blooms In Water Resources of Vidarbha Region, Maharashtra State, Central India

摘要：

In view of incidence of harmful algal blooms worldwide, the present work aimed at situation assessment of the occurrence and impacts of cyanobacterial mass populations in water resources from central India. The study has shown that toxin-producing mass populations of cyanobacteria & the cyanotoxins, occurred in the mesotrophic water bodies in the study area. However, no adverse effects upon human or animal health attributed to cyanotoxins are documented so far.
