Inhibiting effect of photosynthetic bacteria on Microcystis aeruginosa
Microcystis aeruginosa Kuetzing is a widespread bloom alga. The inhibiting effects of Rhodopseudomonas palustras, Rhodobacter sphaeroides and their mixed culture on M. aeruginosa were investigated through the cell liquid culture system. The results indicated that the mixed culture can have remarkable alga-inhibiting action against M. aeruginosa by decreasing average percent of algae biomass to 58.9% when they were cultured 5 d jointly. Some factors such as culturing temperature, culturing time, casting quantity of PSB and pH of culture medium can all impact the controlling effect in different degree. The inhibiting effect was best under culturing temperature at 25 ℃, culturing time ≤5 d, PSB casting quantity about 1/80 and pH of culture medium about 8.0.
