The influence of the input factor on innovation in China – an empirical study based on an innovation production model

This paper studies the influence of venture capital and other input factors on innovation in China. We use a model comprising both Capital input and Labour input. In particular, we consider venture capital investment, R&D expenditure and Government S&T appropriation as Capital input. The empirical result shows that Capital has a significant positive influence on innovation, Labour has a positive influence on innovation but not very significant and capital has a bigger influence on innovation than Labour does. Moreover, we find that R&D expenditure has a very significant influence on innovation, whereas the influence of venture capital and Government S&T appropriation are not significant.
