Optical modulation and detection in silicon platform

摘要：

Silicon photonics has generated a growing interest in the last years. An overview of the field will be presented, highlighting the main results obtained about optical modulators and germanium photodetectors integrated in silicon on insulator waveguides operating around 1.55 μm.
