Micro-bending Pressure Sensors Based on Fiber-Loop Ringdown
A novel micro-bending fiber pressure sensor is proposed by combining traditional micro-bending sesnors and fiber ringdown technique. The fiber ring cavity is composed of two couplers and single-mode fiber, and the single-mode fiber with micro-bending structure is applied as the sensing element. And the measured pressure is converted into the ringdown time of light traveling in the fiber loop by the bending loss effect. This kind of system of measuring pressure based on the theory has the advantages of simple composition, convenient measure and fast response and it provides a novel method of fiber loop ringdown technology and has practical value.
