Photonic Instantaneous Frequency Measurement Using Quadrature Optical Filters Based on High-Birefringence Elements
Photonic approach to instantaneous frequency measurement using two quadrature optical filters (QOFs) is proposed and experimentally demonstrated. The two QOFs having different free spectral ranges are realized using highbirefringence elements, and are then connected in parallel to achieve a large measurement range and a fine frequency resolution without ambiguity.
