Novel Compact Circularly Polarized Printed Ring Slot Antennas
A novel design of compact printed circularly polarized (CP) square ring slot antenna fed by single microstrip line is proposed and investigated. An asymmetric stucture for perturbation is introduced in the ring slot at 45° from the feed line for CP radiation. Two designs with no slit and three pairs of slits are designed. Well CP performances of the proposed antennas are achieved. For study of the proposed antenna with three pairs of slits, the center CP frequency is seen to be lowered by about 10% compared with the case without slit.
