Casting Process Optimization for Large Bearing Bush of Zinc-Base Alloy
The numerical simulation of temperature field in the solidification process for large bushing castings of zinc-base alloy was made with HUAZHU CAE/Inte-CAST10.0 software, the tendency and the position of shrinkage were predicted; It is discussed in this paper how velocity of flow of cooling water and cooling time affect the solidification liquid, temperature gradient and shrinkage;0based on this the causes of shrinkage defects is analysised during actual casting process; and the design of these castings was optimized by analyzing the simulation result. The results show that: the hot spot of casting was cooled in bottom and inner surface two directions by means of seting chilled iron at bottom of bearing bush and using water-cooling metal core in inner cavity of casting simultaneously, that can eliminated shrinkage hole and porosity.
