Negative Incremental forming of sheet based on interval model of hydro-bulging CAE analysis
The quality of incremental forming is depended largely on the spatial feed path of tool. A novel method of tool feed path generation is presented in this paper: utilizing the characteristic that sheet forming limit can been bring into playing adequately in hydro-bulging, and export the interval surface model of each simulation step through numerical simulating. Based these surface, generate tool spatial feed path by CAM software, it can develop the sheet capability fully about negative incremental forming ,thus approach the final contour of part by degrees. When the simulation of Hydro-bulging is no problem, the thickness distribution will be more uniform after negative incremental forming which tracks are generated by this method, and the trend to crack is lower than “parallel section layered manufacture mode.
