Forming technology of hydroforming aluminum alloy cylindrical components with positive and negative pressure
Hydroforming with positive and negative pressure is a new forming technology based on the traditional hydro-mechanical drawing, it applies hydraulic pressure on the upper surface of the blank to cope with deep drawing at the bottom, and is adopted to improve the situation of the deformation zone, reduce the load force of the transfer zone, thereby increasing the allowable deformation degree and improving the forming limit. In this paper, the combination of method on simulation and experiment is adopted to investigate into the hydroforming on 5A06 aluminum alloy cylindrical component with cone bottom. The hydroforming process is simulated with positive and negative pressure, the matching relations on positive pressure and negative pressure and the effect of pressure on thickness distribution are studied. The best process parameters are obtained and the qualified part is successful formed with the minimum thickness is 0.82mm in experiment.
