Analysis of phase transformation simulation and prediction of phase distribution in high strength steel in hot stamping

In order to simulate multi-field coupling, a method that adding phase transformation model of heat treatment into thermo-mechanical model was used by finite element software Deform 3d. The distribution of phase and the effects of parameters on phase transformation were simulated under different processing parameters. The hot stamping experiments with the mold that had cooling system were carried out under different technological parameters. It was shown that 97.7% austenite transformed to martensite after 8s pressure holding time; the average temperature of the sheet dropped 10 ℃ when the convection coefficient was raised from 0 W/m 2 K to 11000 W/m 2 K; the tensile strength of side wall was lower than flange and end region; the temperature error between the test and simulation was less than 15%. Simulation and experiment were in good agreement with accuracy enough for engineering applications.
