Investigation into Influence of Pre-bulging on Subsequent Hydrodynamic Deep Drawing
Hydrodynamic deep drawing (HDD) is an innovative production process particularly suited to forming flat blanks. HDD can be subdivided into a pre-bulging, flatting and hydrodynamic forming. In this study by HDD with pre-bulging, the forming of cylindrical cup is investigated. Bulging parts, flatting parts and cylindrical cups of Dual phase steel (DP340/590) are obtained and some features of these parts, including equivalent effective strain distributions, wall thickness distributions and equivalent effective strain difference, etc., are discussed in details. The results of the investigation show that when relative pre-bulging height is 30%, the flatting part has reverse folding and the cylindrical cup is fractured. The thickness at 0.67d from center increases using HDD with pre-bulging. By relative pre-bulging height of 20%, the thickness increases 0.14mm and relative thickness increases 7%.
