Research on Hot Stamping of Square Cup for Advanced High Strength Steel by Numerical Simulation
The requirements for the safety and environmental protection of the car become higher and higher, and the compulsory crash standard for cars is being perfected increasingly. In consequence, the hot stamping technology of advanced high strength steel (AHSS) will be applied more widely in the automotive field. The hot stamping process of AHSS is multi-field coupled, and it is very complex. Therefore, numerical simulation technique becomes an important way to evaluate its formability. The finite element (FE) software was used to simulate the hot-forming process of AHSS square-cup parts. Then, the thermal-mechanical coupled relation and the model of microstructure transformation in the process of hot stamping were presented. Besides, numerical simulation was carried out to investigate the influence of the main process parameters on that process. Through the microstructure analysis and mechanical testing of hot stamping square-cup parts, effects of these parameters on microstructures and mechanical properties of hot stamping square-cup part were obtained. Simulation and experimental results showed that the FE model could simulate the hot stamping process effectively to obtain some main reasonable process parameters. Besides, square-cup parts with the tensile strength over 1500MPa can be produced by this process.
