Hot Rolling of FeSi Steels – Effects by Hot Rolling in the Two Phase Region
The final hot rolling of non-grain-oriented electrical sheets with low silicon content is realised mostly in the austenite or ferrite region. Final hot rolling rolling in the two phase region makes the highest demands on the rolling mill control system. The magnetic properties of FeSi steels may be improved by hot rolling in the two phase region or mixed rolling: multistep hot rolling in the two phase region and in the ferrite region. A deeper understanding of the effects by hot rolling in the two phase region on the evolution of the microstructure is desirable. We report in this paper on the results of the experimental study on the influence of a hot rolling in the two-phase region followed by hot rolling in the ferrite region on the flow curves and softening behaviour.
