A Modeling Framework for Sharp Interface Models
A sharp interface model is one of the methods to solve moving boundary phenomena in diffusion controlled processes in materials. We propose to use a finite element method and a multiphysics modeling framework to solve the sharp interface models. The proposed method offers the capability to deal with problems of both one and higher dimensions and irregular geometries. In addition, imposing thermodynamic, mechanical, dynamic, and any other equation-based equilibrium or non-equilibrium conditions on the moving interface is possible.
