Potential Capacity of LFG-CDM Project Implementation in Beijing

In order to reduce the negative effects of global warming, the “Kyoto Protocol came into being with Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) as one of the three flexible mechanisms, with the efforts of many countries. However, the reality is that the impact of CDM on the promotion of landfill gas (LFG) recycle from waste landfill is not significant. By analyzing operation status and characteristic of LFG-CDM projects in Beijing and development prospect of CDM in CH4 recycle from waste landfill, suggestions for expanding CDM in landfill gas projects in Beijing were put forward.
