Prediction of LFG Recovery Output in Large and Middle Scale Sanitary Landfill Sites
Landfill gas (LFG) is generated in most landfills during its operation and continue after closure. If the rate of LFG recovery is not predicted properly, the sizing and selection of LFG collection /treatment equipment will be affected. Underestimate of LFG recovery rate would not only result in severe odor nuisance and pollution, but also a waste of reusable energies. In this study, LFG prediction of Gao’antun Sanitary Landfill Site of Chaoyang District in Beijing is carried out. Based on the landfills waste input and site characteristics, a model is introduced to simulate and predict the present and future LFG recovery output, and conducted verification for the model afterwards.
