Effect of Waste Oil on Bioethanol Production from Food Waste
The rich organic nutrients in food waste made it an ideal raw material to produce bioethanol. The effect of waste oil on such process remained uncertain. This paper analyzed the influence of the waste oil on the bioethanol production from food waste, recycled the waste oil by cooking pretreatment, and optimized the related process conditions. The experimental result showed that waste oil had no significant effect on small scale open fermentation. The optimal process conditions of cooking pretreatment were determined as addition amount of water 1:1(m/m), cooking temperature of 80℃, and cooking time of 60min. The process could extract 75% of the waste oil, and the highest ethanol concentration reached 31.75g/L. The method could reduce the bioethanol production cost and recycled the food waste.
