Ag Recycled from Waste PDP Glasses
In this paper, metallic Ag contained in waste plasma display panel (PDP) glasses, classified into front panel glass (FP) and back panel glass (BP), was recycled by traditional hydrometallurgy. To examine Ag recycling rate, four factors, which were PDP glass size, HNO3 concentration, liquid-solid ratio and reaction time, were investigated both by single-factor and orthogonal experiments. The results showed that Ag recycling rate of FP and BP both was up to 97.9%. Orthogonal experiments showed that the influence for Ag recycling rate were in the sequence of particle size, HNO3 concentration, L/S ratio and reaction time. Thus, waste PDP glass was successfully reutilized, proposing a fundamental stone for its future investigation and application.
