Study on Management Strategies of E-Waste in China Based on the Theory of Circular Economy
The production of electric and electronic equipment (EEE) is increasing in China. Both technological innovation and market expansion accelerate the replacement of equipment, which leads to a significant increase of waste electric and electronic equipment (WEEE). During the waste management, informal operations of WEEE may cause environmental and occupational health problems for its hazardous materials. To manage E-waste has important practical significance for China, according to the theory and practice mode of circular economy. In this paper, it reviewed the developments of E-waste management laws, regulations and standards in China. China should adopt and enforce the extended producer responsibility (EPR) system, establish technical guidance on environmental and occupational health, and find an integrated management organization in E-waste recycling industry.
