The Debromination and Thermal Degradation of Flame Retardant Acrylonitrile-Butadiene-Styrene Copolymer
The debromination of flame retardant acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene copolymer (FRABS) was carried out by supercritical fluid CO2 extraction. The decomposition of FRABS before and after debromination was investigated by TG and TG-MS. Compared with the TG curves and the gas products, the FRABS after debromination was similar to pure ABS other than the FRABS before debromination. The pyrolysis experiments were performed up to 500 at heating rate of ℃ 10℃/min in a dynamic nitrogen flow with two-stage pyrolysis, and the pyrolysis oils were characterised by GC-MS. The results indicated that the pyrolysis oils contained valuable chemical products such as styrene, toluene, ethylbenzene, cumene, and the bromine content in the pyrolysis oils of FRABS after extraction was relatively lower than that of FRABS before extraction.
