Experimental Study on the Dehydration Means of Oily Sludge

Massive detrimental oily sludge is generated annually with a large volume and high water content. It is necessary to dehydrate for sludge with the purpose of achieving volume reduction and water content decrease. In this study, experimental platform was established based on the analysis of the status quo of sludge dewatering technology at home and abroad. In conjunction of reagent conditioning, magnetic separation dehydration, filtering bed dehydration and extrusive dehydration are adopted to conduct oily sludge dewatering experiment. Through comparison and analysis of the three dehydration means, it was found that extrusive dehydration had a relatively higher dewatering efficiency and favorable economic benefit compared with other dehydration methods. In order to achieve the optimum economic and environmental benefits, it was recommended that appropriate dewatering methods should be chosen according to the physical and chemical property of sludge and practical requirement of sludge treatment.
