Statistical Assessment of Contaminated Soil Remediation Technology in China
As a promising environmental industry, contaminated soil remediation (CSR) has been given much attention in China both in academic research and commercial application. In order to promote the technologies of CSR in China, on the basis of more than 1595 scientific papers published in Chinese journals from 1996 to 2009, the chronological distribution of publications on CSR research groups, remediation medium and type of technology were analyzed. Research progresses related to each CSR process were summarized. Commercial CSR projects were also investigated. Finally, the demands for development in CSR technologies were projected. These demands included (1) rapid, land reusable CSR technologies consistent with Chinas industrial site conditions; (2) organic compounds and heavy metal combined contaminated soils should be paid more attention; (3) companies should take part in CSR industry actively.
