Robust Turbo Decoding over Rayleigh Fading Channels
In this paper, we investigate the effects of channel estimation errors on the performance of turbo decoding over fully interleaved Rayleigh fading channels. It has been proven that the Max-Log-MAP decoder is independent of any channel parameter, no matter with perfect or imperfect channel estimates. Further, we propose a robust method for turbo decoding over Rayleigh fading channels by applying the scaling factor approach. Simulation results show that the proposed method can perform very closely to the Log-MAP algorithm and has the same computational complexity as the Max-Log-MAP algorithm. In addition, the proposed method has the merit of being insensitive to the mismatched parameter estimates.
