Comparison of the Printing Characteristics between Coated Art Paper and Matt Art Paper
By experimental methods, the different printing characteristics of coated art paper and matt art paperwere tested and discussed. The results showed that the optimum printing contrasts and solid densities ofCMYK colors of these two kinds of paper were not the same, and the prints on matt art paper had relativelysmaller dot gains, higher ink trappings, higher brightness and greater total dot area coverage than those oncoated art paper under the same printing conditions. This research could be used to optimize printing process,improve printing quality and promote process standardization.
